Colorful Flowers and Planters Porch

Please describe and tell us about your front porch decorating.
My daugher took this picture last Mother's Day just after I had replanted all my porch pots with flowers. The hanging plants are all ferns which I've always loved and I can't seem to keep them alive as well indoors but they do fine outside in spring.

Did you make anything or is it all purchased?
I did all the potted flower arrangements myself. Mostly begonias, snapdragons and carnations.

Tell us more about your process! How did you plan it and do everything?
I had those potters already and we've had them for years. Every spring I go to the garden center in town and pick out flats of flowers to refill my pots on the porch. I also have some flowers at the edge of the driveway and in the back yard. They last several months before I need to replant. I water them daily.

Other than my flowers I don't spend much time on our porch with decorating. The rocking chair is always there and the old standing mail slot because we didn't have a slot in the door since it is glass and the dog we used to have would tear up the mail back when the mail man would set it on the chair.

Did you run into any problems? How long did it take you? Are you done with your porch?
No problems with my flowers last year though the year before we went on vacation for a week and it was real hot while we were gone and I lost a number of them.
