Christmas Candle Making Instructions

Christmas candle making is a fun and easy project to create beautiful (and functional!) holiday decorations for your home. Not to mention the fact that these could make great gifts too!

The best part? Cheap. It is very affordable to create your own using jars and containers you have lying in your recycling bin. Better yet, set aside interesting jars and containers year round so you always have some on hand to craft with.

You can use essential oils to scent your homemade holiday candles traditional seasonal scents like evergreen, cinnamon, cloves or peppermint but unscented is just fine too. Cinnamon is a personal favorite of mine and I enjoy it year round.

This page shows decorating and embellishing a homemade candle. Here are some easy candle making instructions to make the actual candle you'll be decorating!

Supplies: In this example, I'm using a homemade candle that was poured into a food tin and I'm covering the tin with decorative paper and ribbon for the holidays. Decorative paper, double sided tape (you can also use a hot glue gun) and ribbon or string.

Measure the height of the candle tin and cut your decorative paper to the height. For the diameter, be sure to leave a 1/2" - 1" overlap for you to glue down or use double sided tape.

Once the container is covered, you can add additional strips of decorative paper, ribbons and string to further decorate to match your holiday decor!
